Independent Medical Evidence for Veterans
ILY Medical Corps provides independent medical evaluations for Veterans seeking additional medical evidence related to a VA disability claim.
Services may include condition-specific Disability Benefits Questionnaire (DBQ) examinations, independent medical nexus opinions, and combined evaluations when clinically appropriate.
Each evaluation is individualized and based on the Veteran’s medical history, available records, examination findings, and applicable medical evidence. A favorable medical opinion, service connection, disability percentage, or VA benefits determination is never guaranteed.
ILY Medical Corps intentionally maintains straightforward pricing without separate basic consultation or preliminary records-review charges.
The Veteran starts by selecting:
Veteran DBQ Evaluation – Initial Screening — $0
or
Veteran Nexus Evaluation – Initial Consultation — $0
The Veteran completes a secure preliminary questionnaire covering:
Relevant documents may also be requested through the secure patient portal.
The clinician reviews the questionnaire and available preliminary documentation.
The review helps determine:
A phone or virtual consultation may be completed if additional history or clarification is necessary.
A consultation is not required in every case.
If the submitted information provides sufficient detail, the Veteran may receive next-step instructions through the secure patient portal without completing the full consultation.
The Veteran is notified whether the case can be accepted for independent medical evaluation.
If accepted, the appropriate service is selected:
Acceptance means that ILY Medical Corps has agreed to perform an independent medical evaluation. It does not mean that a favorable medical conclusion has been predetermined.
The Veteran receives instructions for securely uploading the documentation needed for the evaluation.
Depending on the case, this may include:
Additional documentation may be requested when necessary.
Payment is collected after the case has been accepted for evaluation and before the full medical evaluation, DBQ examination, or nexus opinion is completed.
There is no separate charge for:
The professional fee reflects the clinician’s medical evaluation, analysis, examination when applicable, professional judgment, documentation, and responsibility for the completed medical work.
DBQ Services
The Veteran completes the appropriate condition-specific examination.
Depending on the DBQ, this may include:
Some DBQs must be completed in person.
Nexus Opinions
The clinician performs a comprehensive medical review of the requested relationship.
This may include:
A separate clinical examination may be required when medically necessary.
The clinician evaluates the available evidence and develops an independent medical conclusion.
ILY Medical Corps does not use a pay-for-outcome model.
Medical opinions are based on the evidence reviewed and the clinician’s independent professional judgment.
Once the evaluation is complete, the clinician prepares the appropriate documentation:
Each additional nexus opinion receives its own medical analysis, rationale, and conclusion.
Completed documentation is delivered securely to the Veteran through the patient portal or another approved secure method.
The Veteran may then provide the documentation to VA or to their VA-accredited representative.
ILY Medical Corps does not submit or manage VA disability claims and does not provide legal representation or individualized VA claims-preparation services.
ILY Medical Corps is an independent private medical practice and is not affiliated with, employed by, sponsored by, or endorsed by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.
ILY Medical Corps provides independent medical evaluation and documentation services. We do not provide legal representation or VA claims-preparation services and do not determine eligibility for VA benefits.
All medical opinions are based on the clinician’s independent professional judgment and the evidence available for review. Payment does not guarantee a favorable medical opinion, service connection, disability percentage, increased rating, or any other VA benefits determination.
